Maptile Templates


Maptile is a wonderful Stata resource for making beautiful maps created by Michael Stepner. I have created several geographic templates for Canada at different geographic levels. Maps created using these templates, and the templates themselves are provided below. Feel free to contact me about maptile templates for years prior to 2006.


+ Census Metropolitan Areas/Census Agglomerations

CMA/CAs, 2006

Alberta CMA/CAs, 2006

CMAs/CAs are relatively large geographic areas defined as a collection of municipalities (Census Subdivisions) with a core population above 50,000/10,000. Further information on the definition of these areas is available here . For the raw Statistics Canada Boundary files see this link.

+ Census Tracts

CTs, 2016

Montreal CTs, 2016

+ Dissemination Areas

DAs, 2016

Vancouver DAs, 2016
